Extreme Networks Altitude 4600 Series Access Points
The Extreme Networks Altitude 4600 Series is a family of high-performance "thin" access points designed for secure and cost-effective 802.11n WLAN deployments. Optimized for enterprise campuses, these APs deliver up to six times the throughput of legacy 802.11a/b/g networks, making them ideal for high-speed data transfer, video streaming, and latency-sensitive voice services.
The series features a 2x3 MIMO design with spatial diversity, ensuring optimal signal reception even in high-multipath environments. Managed centrally by Summit WM3000 controllers, the Altitude 4600 series features SMART RF technology, which proactively adjusts power and channels to maintain seamless connectivity. With integrated mounting brackets and standard 802.3af PoE support, these access points are engineered for easy installation on walls, ceilings, or even plenum spaces (models 4620/4621).
